450 Platform Spring Contemporary - Deering Estate 2017

Tangled is an interactive installation using plastic materials to expose viewers to the difficulties these objects cause our environment, particularly to our water ecosystems. Through the use of plastic bags, we created a textile. Weaving this through the trees, a web like environment emerged. The result was an inviting maze where the further visitors traveled inside the more trapped they became. With the sounds of Biscayne Bay nearby, the effects that plastic materials have to both wildlife and the environment became more present.
